3 cups whole wheat flour
1 pkg yeast
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
1 1/2 cups cracked wheat
1 1/2 cups cornmeal
1/2 cup powdered milk
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 cup warm water
1 tsp. milk
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
In a small bowl mix yeast, salt and
water. Let rise. In a small bowl, mix together. and
let yeast rise. In a large bowl, mix together the dry
ingredients. To the dry ingredients, add the yeast mixture
and 3 cups of chicken broth. Knead adding flour if needed to
make a firm dough. Roll or pat out on floured board to
1/4" thick. Cut into shapes and place on ungreased
cookie sheets. In a small bowl mix egg and milk. Glaze
with egg mixture. Let air dry for 45 minutes. Bake for
60 minutes. Turn oven off but leave cookies inside1 to 2
hours to dry. Store in an airtight container. Makes
approximately 10 dozen biscuits.
